For anyone looking for help starting out with IDL, you only need one starting point: Coyote's Guide to IDL Programming, cared for by David Fanning. I worked with David for almost two years before starting my own company, and I am still amazed at the depth of his knowledge of IDL and his ability to explain it. The IDL/PV-Wave newsgroup is an excellent community of IDL users, and a dependable source of help. (more to come...) |
